Description
Intermediate tetraploid perennial ryegrass (lolium perenne) is an intermediate heading agricultural grass. Tetraploid grasses have four chromosomes per cell as opposed to diploids which have two. Simply put, Tetraploid grasses are more palatable to livestock. Livestock prefer tetraploids over diploids if they have a choice. Tetraploids are naturally high in sugars. They are excellent for quality silage and fast to establish.
