A red clover which is late flowering bearing flowers that vary in shade from white (rare) to red, with the majority being pink. It has good winter hardiness, and is more tolerant of acidic soils than Alsike Clover, but does not tolerate drought. Short lived, it is grown mainly for hay and silage mixtures and is also included in many pollen and nectar mixtures. Growth in the first year is a rosette of leaves and an occasional flowering stem. Flowering growth occurs mainly in the following years.
