Fodder Radish

Fodder Radish provides a leave canopy and is a valuable pollen and nectar source with seed pods that can supply seed throughout the winter.

Fodder Radish is a quick growing green manure, germinating in 3-10 days depending on soil temperature. It has the ability to draw up nutrients from the subsoil and can penetrate compacted soils with its long deep rooting tap root. It should be sown after the last frost and then can be cut down on flowering. If it becomes to long it can be topped to about 20cm and allowed to re grow.
