Meadow Brome

Meadow Brome adapts well to clay, loam and sandy soil, but cannot withstand long periods of flooding or high salinity levels.

Meadow Brome (Bromus commutatus) is an annual or biannual grass which can get to around 1.2m tall. It is widespread across the UK, frequently found on moist lowland soils especially on rough grassland. The seed is larger than Sterile/Barren Brome and can remain viable for up to 10 years.
