Mustard produces a high yield of dry matter, is good as a cover crop and helps to break down soils and prevent erosion.

White or Yellow Mustard (Sinapsis alba)ย is a high yielding cover crop that creates a dense cover. It is fast and easy to establish which helps to suppress weeds by rapid ground cover. Extensive root systems break down compacted soils and prevents erosion. Mustard breaks down quickly when incorporated back into the soil, so nutrients are quickly released and made available to following cash crops. It is a cost effective solution for use in crop rotations. Nematode resistant varieties are available.
