Description

Velvet Bent (Agrostis canina) has the finest texture of all the Bent grasses. It is one of the oldest grasses used for lawns and golf courses. Ideal for the very best putting greens due to its texture and ability to withstand being clipped very closely. It thrives in cool climates with moist, fertile soils. It grows like colonial bent, only shorter. It requires medium to high fertilisation, depending on mowing and the usage of the grass. It requires extra water in dryer areas. It does not do well in warm dry areas and needs plenty of moisture.
