Yarrow is a strong smelling perennial, having dark green, feathery leaves. It has flat topped clusters of white flower heads, each flower head has yellow disc florets with pinky white ray florets.



Yarrow is common native that grows freely in grassland, chalk land, roadsides.Yarrow is a tough plant of many grasslands, has been used to help restore arable land to grassland by sowing it along with other species. It is easily recognised due to its feathery leaves, strong stems and the broad white flower heads made up of many small individual flowers. It is found on soils between pH 4.7 and 8.0, it has roots that penetrate to 20cm deep.
